First day of the season!

This is the first time Logan and Carson have been skiing. We don't really count the times we shoved Carson down the side of the neighborhood. They both did so well. Carson is more concerned with flying down the mountain than actual learning how to ski (turning, stopping, looking...). Logan is meticulous when he skis. His diligence has payed off, he gracefully glides down the slopes with few falls and total control. Trey is a maniac! He passes the rest of the kids 3-4 times on the same run,however one time Logan and I passed over him on the chair lift and he did not quite stick the landing after a jump and it looked like a yard sale on the mountain! Fallon found a friend and raced down the run with her for hours. We were really worried about her because last year she didn't want to ski and now she is totally into it, she asked today if she could snowboard! All in all I think everyone had a exceptional day!

Logan and Carson had their birthday at Discovery Kids in Salt Lake this year. The kids and John had the best time. Logan was so excited when he walked into the kid size house and discovered a mouse hole. He got on his tummy and started calling "Jerry, come out". Carson loved the farm and the rock climbing wall. He has no fear of heights.

Nobody Ever Listens to Logan

Having my friend Jennifer and her family staying with us has been so much fun. She has 3 kids and sometimes not everyone it getting their needs met. Logan was following Jennifer around with a hot dog and a can of whip cream. She told him that he needed to go ask someone else if it was o.k. for him to eat a whip cream covered hot dog for dinner. I guess after several attempts for adult help Logan had had enough. By the time he found me he was so frustrated, he stood in front of me and demanded at the top of his lungs (if you know Logan he is so quiet and patient that "at the top of his lungs" is more cute that naughty) "I NEED THE WHITE STUFF IN THIS CAN IN MY MOUTH (pointing to his mouth) RIGHT NOW!!!!!!! Jennifer and I laughed so hard. So in the end Logan got whip cream for an appetizer.

Jennifer and I took our kids to This is the Place Historical Park today. I did not realize how big this place is. The kids were on their best behavior, which was good because it was a long day. Over the weekend I hurt my hips so I have been relying on a cane and Hydrocodone to get me around. So, Carson being the comedian that he is would take the cane away from me. Everyone thought this was funny, everyone but me! The last picture is of Logan and a "fox" (ox). He was so proud of himself for finding the ever elusive and rare "fox".

We still have some exterior work to do on the basement level but besides that the exterior is done. The flowers that I started from seed are starting to come up but it still looks like a pile of weeds. In a few weeks we should have a flower explosion on our hands. This Monday we went to the Natural History Museum at Thanksgiving Point with Trey's scout group. We had a great time and all the kids were fantastic. At this point some of you will want to skip to the cute pictures of the kids because I am going to rant! Moms, don't take your kids out with your girlfriends if you have every intention of sitting on your fat backside, chatting and laughing, all the while ignoring the unruly behavior of your children at the expense of other peoples children. When I pay good money to take my children out to a place of learning I don't want sand thrown in their eyes, a WWF wrestling in the dig dinosaur dig box, where my daughter is trying to learn (boys who are 5th. grade age) and all this beneath a sign that reads: supervise your children. OK, I'm done.

We had the best time at the Deer Valley Music Festival! This has got to be the best way to take kids, or less than excited adults, to the symphony. The Utah Symphony played a block of Elvis and the kids got up and danced, it was darling! The best part was when a cute little boy came over to ask Fallon if she would dance with him to "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You" and she turned him down flat. I felt so bad for him that I danced with him and than eventually Fallon joined us. The grand finally was when they played Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, cannons and all! I accidentally put 2 of the same pic. on and couldn't figure out how to get one of them off and quite frankly got tired of messing with is so enjoy or ignore.

Downtown London- I took this pic. from the steps of St. Paul's Cathedral.

The present structure is the fifth cathedral to be built on the site. The weddings of the Prince and Princess of Wales, the funeral of Sir Winston Churchill and many other occasions have graced this spiritual centre. Built of Portland stone with a Dome that rises to 365 feet and with Great Paul, the largest bell in England.

Buckingham Palace - Popularly known as "Buck House", has served as the Monarch`s permanent London residence since the accession of Queen Victoria. It began its days in 1702 as the Duke of Buckingham`s city residence, built on the site of a notorious brothel, and was sold by the Duke`s son to George III in 1762.

Westminster Abbey is steeped in more than a thousand years of history. Benedictine monks first came to this site in the middle of the tenth century, establishing a tradition of daily worship which continues to this day. Dad and Courtney pooped out on me at about this point so I spent some time taking pictures is Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Downtown London and St. Paul's cathedral.

The Tower of London - Overlooks the river at the eastern boundary of the old city walls. Chiefly famous as a place of imprisonment and execution, it has variously been used as a royal residence, an armoury, a mint, a menagerie, an observatory and - a function it still serves - a safe-deposit box for the Crown Jewels.

The Houses of Parliament contain the bell Big Ben that strikes on the quarter hour. Marble Arch was designed by John Nash in 1828. Built of white Carrara marble, the design was taken from the triumphal arch of Constantine in Rome. It was erected to form a grand gateway to Buckingham Palace.
