The Labrum Family

"But now in September the garden has cooled, and with it my possessiveness. The sun warms my back instead of beating on my head ... The harvest has dwindled, and I have grown apart from the intense midsummer relationship that brought it on." - Robert Finch

Dedication:

This blog is dedicated to my sweet children, my wonderful husband, our pets and extended family.

We are lucky enough to live in beautiful Summit Park, surrounded by mountains, skiing and the best neighbors anyone can ever have.

We share our home with Sam, a 95 pound black lab and two trouble-making conures named Bella and Dolce.

John Labrum

John Labrum
John enjoys working on our home, staying in shape and keeping the rest of us on out toes with his not so humorous sense of humor and antics. And this is why I love him.

Trey Labrum

Trey Labrum
Trey is our violinist; he enjoys practicing far more than any boy his age would ever willingly put up with, despite the evidence to the contrary during his lessons.

Fallon Labrum

Fallon Labrum
Fallon is a caring and kind girl and I am honored to me her mother. She is wonderfull to her friends and is always standing up for what is right even if it is the hardest thing to do.

Logan Labrum

Logan Labrum
Our precious Logan is kind, loving and always reminding us that to get through life you have to laugh at everything. He loves to be creative and can find beauty in anything and anyone.

Carson Labrum

Carson Labrum
Carson is fond of anything beautiful, especially my friends. They all love to be in his company because there is no shortage of compliments from him directed to them.

Ragan Labrum

Ragan Labrum
As for me, I love spending time with my children and husband. My other loves are music, piano, politics and trying to learn to speak Italian.

Quotes

Man once surrendering his reason, has no remaining guard against the most monstrous absurdities, and like a ship without a rudder is the sport of every wind. With such persons, gullibility and faith takes the helm from the hand of reason, and the mind becomes a wreck.
--Thomas Jefferson

I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute--where no Catholic prelate would tell the president (should he be Catholic) how to act, and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote--where no church or church school is granted any public funds or political preference--and where no man is denied public office merely because his religion differs from the president who might appoint him or the people who might elect him.
--John F. Kennedy

1. We are more alike than we are different.
2. The resilience of the human race is miraculous.
3. We Americans are both blessed and pampered.
4. The long-term human costs of war almost always exceed whatever short-term gains war may produce.
--G. Donald GaleDeseret News, 5/3/03

Patriotism means being loyal to your country all the time and to its government when it deserves it.
--Mark Twain

One day of practice is like one day of clean living. It doesn't do you any good. ~Abe Lemmons
